Stop the music, I’ll have the whole thing, Those mountains, We can share the barnacles. Split the difference, I’ll take the treetops, The red rocks, We can share the molecules. We’ll be overcome by mourning, At the dawning of the day, We’ll be overrun by madness, Like the darling buds of May. We’ll be overcome by mourning, At the dawning of the day, We’ll be overrun by madness, Like the darling buds of May. Stop the dancing, We’ll share the whole pie, The night sky, And we can share the particles. Ask the question, You’ll find the whole thing, Those mountains, Just listen it will be wonderful. We’ll be overcome by mourning, At the dawning of the day, We’ll be overrun by madness, Like the darling buds of May. We’ll be overcome by mourning, At the dawning of the day, We’ll be overrun by madness, Like the darling buds of May.

Marvellous clouds, Luminous clouds, To wipe away tears, And solemn veneers. Marvellous clouds, Turn tears into rain, To wash off the stains, Those stubborn remains. Marvellous clouds, Voluminous clouds, Make seen the unseen, Turn blue into green. Marvellous clouds, Billowing clouds, Composed out of air, Angelic fanfare.
4.
I did and I don’t with you, I’ll wind down the road with you, I would but I didn’t do, I’ll patch up a hole for you, Come trickling downwards, With me. Mechanical clouds it seems, Deliberately blinding me, Making it hard to see, I’m bound in a book of leaves, While trickling downwards with you. Come close to me, Come close to me, Come close to me, Come close to me, Come close to me.

Old Ocean 04:21
Old ocean, Thank you for holding me, Won’t be the same without you, Facts on the move again, Truths on the hoof they say, Oh, can’t you see, It’s lost in the everyday, It slid so far away, From you and me. Old ocean, Thank you for holding me, Rocked by an endless motion, Afloat in a ceaseless sea, Won’t be the same without you. Loves on the loose again, Long in the tooth they say, Or lost at sea, Good has gone away, It seems it’s there to stay, What will be will be. Old ocean, Thank you for holding me, Rocked by an endless motion, Afloat in a ceaseless sea, Won’t be the same without you. Whether calm or weather stormy, Whether green or blue, Whether vain or whether haughty, Whether win or lose. Whether truth or just a story, You can’t pick and choose, Whether blunt or whether thorny It’s not up to you. Old ocean, Thank you for holding me, Rocked by an endless motion, Afloat in a ceaseless sea, Won’t be the same without you.

I’ll be the moon, You’ll be the sun, We’ll make the day glow, You’ll slowly rise, And I will fall. I’ll be the sky, You’ll be the ground, Under the hillside, We’ll slowly wait and watch it all. I’ll be a bee, You’ll be a bird, We’ll feel the wind blow, I’ll be the rain and you the snow. You’ll be the light, And I’ll be a cloud, Casting a shadow, You’ll bring the shine, And I the shade. You’ll be the morning, I’ll be the day, Dressed by the evening, That melted away, By being with you.

I stitched my mind back to my body, I’m not sorry, We’re not sorry. I felt whole and free from worry, I’m not sorry, We’re not sorry. I’ll be over in the next aisle, With the glittering smile, I tried to lure you through the turnstile, Where you’ll never be. Found the way, But it was foggy, I’m not sorry, We’re not sorry. I walked the path, But feet got soggy, I’m not worried, We’re not worried. I’ll be over in the next aisle, With the glittering smile, I tried to lure you through the turnstile, Where you’ll never be found. I stitched my mind back to my body, I’m not sorry, We’re not sorry, I felt whole and free from worry, I’m not sorry, We’re not sorry.

The feet are the link, Between earth and the body, Begin there, Begin there, The lungs are the link, Between body and air, Between body and air, The hands These uprooted feet Are the means Of our shaping and grasping, Clasp them. The eyes are the hands of the head, Its feet are the ears, Its feet are the ears.

I’m in the garden, Half past three, Underneath the plum tree, Waiting for a daydream. I’m in the garden, Half past three, Working on my fourth tea, Wondering where should I be. If only I could shut the world out ’till tomorrow, Then maybe I can find a little peace of mind, If only I could watch the breeze blow all my sorrow, And listen as the wind begins to waft my worries away. I’m in the garden, Half past four, Underneath the Hawthorn, Watching as the ants crawl on, I’m in the garden, Half past four, Listening to leaves fall, Thinking should I sleep once more. If only I could shut the world out ’till tomorrow, Then maybe I can find a little peace of mind, If only I could watch the breeze blow all my sorrow, And listen as the wind begins to waft my worries away. Lying backwards as the world spins round me, Feel dizzy when I think too hard, The weight of empty space surrounds me, The smallest sound and I’ll get caught off guard. If only I could shut the world out ’till tomorrow, Then maybe I can find a little peace of mind, If only I could watch the breeze blow all my sorrow, And listen as the wind begins to waft my worries away.

Don’t bop me, Don’t want that, Don’t need it, Don’t check that, Shiny fruits, Shiny wheels, Many tentacles grabbing for me. Belly moves, Belly sleeps, Belly looks, Belly sees. Don’t want it, Won’t need that, Won’t feed it, Won’t get that. Many lights, Many screens, Many messages coming for me, Many hoops, many beeps, Many windows keep calling for me. Beep, beep, beep overrun it, Beep, beep, beep overrun it, Overrun it then you’re done. Eye to the ear, Ear to the memory of a golden age, Gold is now, Now is a sage, I to the maybe go. Don’t want it, Don’t eat that, Won’t feed it, Won’t get that, Many lights, Many screens, Many messages coming for me, Belly moves, Belly sleeps, Belly looks, Belly sees, Many hoops, many beeps, Fall into the endless dream. Beep, beep, beep overrun it, Beep, beep, beep overrun it, Overrun it then you’re done, Beep, beep, beep overrun it, Beep, beep, beep overrun it, Overrun it then you’re done.

Don’t go walking, Sorrow’s stalking, Why so silent today, Breathe round corners, Dusts come sooner, We’ll wallow the solitude away. Sit and watch as we get older, Smiles crinkle in the corner, Saved for a rainy day. I’ll go walking, I’ve run aground talking, I’ll beat the furrows away. Oh, swift and swallow, Where are you to be tomorrow? Starling and sparrow, Find a hole or start to burrow. Sit and watch as we get older, Smiles crinkle in the corner, Saved for a rainy day. I’ll go walking, I’ve run aground talking, I’ll beat the furrows away.
13.
Run 03:48
I’ll run away, I ran away, I’ll run away again, And then, I’ll come back home. I tried to stay, I tried to say, I’ll try again and then I’ll be alone, I tried again, To make amends, To clear the way, To blink and say the words again. I’m over the walls, Out the door, On my way, Because the wind won’t wait for me.
14.
Don’t forget you are, But once a child. Then you get older, Sure, as a mountain. But for a smile, Just for a smile, Just for a while. May I overcome, That which beguiles, And clutches my fingers, And grasps at my toes, Just for a while, Just for a while.

We’ll be hanging till the lights are out, We’ll be running till the night has come, We’ll be shouting till our time is up, We’ll be loving till the day is done. I float on a lake in a boat, (Froze awake) Not far from the island, (Words left dangling over) A word on the page that you wrote, (Pan around) A noise in the silence, (See a fist in the air) A drop in the ocean, (Its golden) A tree in the wind, (Frozen time). Silent party crew, Slow, shiny is the, View. We’ll be hanging till the lights are out, We’ll be running till the night has come, We’ll be shouting till our time is up, We’ll be loving till the day is done. A goat on the mountain side, (Jump, mid-air) A shed in the garden, (Leg and arm make a pattern) A gap in the hedge over there, (Kiss a pout) A fridge in the kitchen, (Longing, all in the eyes) A hole in the pocket, (Its frozen) The side of the road, Golden, Time. Float above the scene, Somewhere in between this, Dream. We’ll be hanging till the lights are out, We’ll be running till the night has come, We’ll be shouting till our time is up, We’ll be loving till the day is done. Bubbling round like we can, Shaking it out so we can, Wobbling round so we could, Jumping about like monkeys. We’ll be hanging till the lights go out, We’ll be loving till the scene is done.

From one and two comes many, And many more will do, More than a few, More than a mountain side or two. From three and four comes plenty, And plenty ought to do, More than a mountain, More than the ocean deep and blue. Got the beast but left the burden, It’s the step before the fall, It’s the pause before the question, It’s the window or the wall.

Lichens 02:20
What never dies it can’t get old, Listen loud and listen bold, What never comes can’t be foretold, Listen hot and listen cold. What never lives will never mould, Listen loud and listen bold, What was once one is now three-fold, Listen hot and listen cold. Little lichen never lonesome, Always two maybe three, Little lichen never lonesome, Living there always we, Little lichen never lonesome, Always two maybe three, Little lichen never lonesome, Living there always we.

It was interdimensional, It was only the moon and me, It was past pataphysical, It was what set the tune in G. It was long irresistible, Like a thorn in a blossom tree, All was lost, imperceptible, It was nothing if not serene. I wasn’t big, I wasn’t small, I wasn’t anyone at all. It was multidirectional, Wasn’t there to determine why, It was plainly invisible, Like the depth of the blue sky. I was whole, indivisible, But you asked me if you could try, I was no individual, There was not even you or I. I wasn’t big, I wasn’t small, I wasn’t anyone at all. Up above and barefoot, My feet were on the cold ground, I looked a little harder, Life was blooming all around, Undulating order, My ears were bathed in strange sounding tunes. Up above and barefoot, My feet were on the cold ground, I looked a little harder, Life was blooming all around, Undulating order, My ears were bathed in strange sounding tunes. Drop in the ocean, Oh, so benevolent, Plucked from the eyebrow, Of some resplenderment, Tongue tied eloquence, Dropped in the deeper end, Man overboard at sea in bewilderment, Man overboard at sea in bewilderment, Man overboard at sea in bewilderment, Man overboard at sea in bewilderment, Over borders lost in the wilderness. It was interdimensional, It was only the moon and me, It was past pataphysical, It what set the tune in G, It was long irresistible, Like a thorn in a blossom tree, All was lost, imperceptible, It was nothing if not serene. I wasn’t big, I wasn’t small, I wasn’t anyone at all, I wasn’t big, I wasn’t small, I wasn’t anyone at all, I wasn’t anyone at all.

Does the swallow dream of flying, As it sleeps on the wing, Does it long for the summer, As it flies home for spring, Does daisy feel a sadness, At the last rays of sun, Does the wind feel a gladness, At the work that it’s done. I won’t go making mountains, Out of molehills, Anymore, I won’t go chasing windmills, Round in circles, Anymore, I won’t go preaching sermons, To the choir what’s it for? I won’t go through the motions anymore. Does the river ever wonder, What will come round the bend? As it twists and meanders, Down its slow descent. I looked out over London, With my last cup of tea, My gaze was returned by, Grey cloud and steel.

about

I am incredibly excited to share the of the music from my new album Eye to the Ear. It has been a wild journey to piece it all together over the last five years. The twenty-one tracks combine traditional instrumentation and electronic production with field recordings and both human and more-than-human voices to create songs and sound worlds that I hope can speak to the urgency and possibilities of our times.

I am so grateful to all the people, places, creatures, plants, fungi, and sounds that have helped to bring this music into being. I hope you enjoy!
